Thought I would share with you how I reworked this old vintage graphic for a local high school alumni group. I actually share the entire process in real time. No time lapse junk here.
Vectorizing raster images is the process of tracing over a raster image in a vector based app like Adobe Illustrator. You might use this process if you wanted to digitize a hand drawing for reproduction, polish an old raster based logo or any old time you want to make a raster image into something really smooth and scalable. It can be slow work, but oddly enough, it’s something I enjoy. A lot like my macramé, it’s meditative and there’s something really satisfying about all those little nodes and smooth lines.
